If you have children, then home organization can seem like a never ending battle. You put something away and it is back out again. You clean the floor and there are toys all over it. This is particularly true in your kids room. It seems as though no matter how many times you pick up the things on the floor, shortly thereafter they are back. Children often do not understand the importance of having a clean room. Not only does it look nice but it also ensures that toys are not lost and injuries do not happen. An effective way to get your child involved in picking things up and understanding the importance is by involving them. Getting them to help is not always easy, but if you can implement a few things to make it fun for them they will have no issues helping you.
A great way to encourage your children to get involved is by having them help you pick out some of their storage options. Take them shopping with you and allow them to pick out a few kids storage bins that they like and tell them that this is what they must use to help keep their room tidy. You may end up spending a little more but if they help you around the house it may be worth it.
Try to find storage bins that are fun and geared towards children. You can often find things like toy chests, benches and baskets that are decorated with letters of the alphabet, numbers and their favorite cartoon characters to get them excited about the item. They are appealing to them and will also add a decorative feature to their room. You can have them decide which items will go in each bin so that they feel like they are in charge and it will give them a sense of entitlement.
Getting your kids to help out is about making it fun for them, while you know deep down it is about making them responsible as well as helping you out. If you add an element of fun to cleaning then they may not see it as a dreaded task
