Making Coffee the Old Fashioned Way with an Electric Kettle

There used to be at time when coffee was made right on the stove over a hot flame. The coffee maker was pretty much the same thing that was used in the old western films. Today, everyone is about fancy coffee makers and automatic drip machines. However, there may not be a better cup of coffee than what comes out of an electric kettle.

While automatic drip machines are very convenient, they hardly make the best cup of coffee. In actuality, the best cup of coffee probably comes from a French press, but that can be a bit of a chore. Next up would be the electric kettles and it is because of the way that the coffee is brewed.

Automatic drip machines are at a huge disadvantage in quality because the grounds are never fully submersed in water. With the water flowing over them gradually, the coffee never really reaches its full potential. An electric kettle, on the other hand, works just like the old fashioned pots and fully engulfs the grounds to produce a nice even flavor that is far better than most other brewing styles.

The economy has a way of making people go back to basics and one of the first things that everyone has cut out is their trip to the local Starbucks, in favor of a home brewed cuppa on the living room furniture. For some people, the elimination of that daily stop is putting as much as $50 a week back into their pockets. Instead of tolerating horrible automatic drip coffee, they are using electric kettles for coffee or an electric tea kettle for their daily caffeine.

Sometimes, getting back to basics is a good thing and using an electric kettle is about as good as it gets. The coffee will taste better and the aromas that are released as the brew is being made are absolutely incredible. Even if you are a non-believer, the inexpensive cost of an electric kettle makes it a cheap experiment.
